b. 16 July 1669, o. s. of George Willoughby, later 6th (CP 7th) Bar. Willoughby of Parham, and Elizabeth (d.1679), da. of Henry Clinton, alias Fiennes, of Kirkstead, Lincs. educ. unknown. unm. d. c. Dec. 1677;1 admon. 15 Feb. 1678.2

John Willoughby, only son of the 6th (CP 7th)3 Baron, inherited the title as a minor and died near the beginning of December 1677 at ‘about eight years of age’, reportedly ‘of convulsions’.4 Upon his death the barony passed to his nearest male kin, his uncle, also named John Willoughby, 8th (CP 9th) Baron Willoughby of Parham.
